Buffy has been free since day one. It's going to stay that way for personal use.
But over the past few months, a pattern has emerged: power users are hitting limits, teams want shared routines, and developers want higher API quotas. We've been quietly noting every "can I get more channels?" and "is there a team plan?" that's come in.
So: Buffy Pro is coming.
What stays free
Everything on the current plan stays free, permanently:
- Up to 25 active habits
- Up to 100 active tasks
- Up to 15 routines
- Up to 200 reminders/day
- 365 days of memory with personalization
- Up to 3 linked channels (ChatGPT, Telegram, Slack/Clawbot)
- Advanced scheduling, AI intent parsing, daily briefing
If you're a single person running your habits and routines, the free tier covers you completely. This isn't a "free trial" — it's the permanent free plan.
What Pro will add
We're still finalizing the details, but the shape is clear from what users are asking for:
- Higher activity limits — more habits, tasks, and routines for people running complex systems
- More channels — link all your surfaces without hitting the channel cap
- Extended memory window — deeper behavioral history for better adaptation
- Team and workspace features — shared routines in Slack, participation tracking, workspace-level billing
- Priority reminder delivery — for when timing actually matters
Why we're doing a waitlist first
We want to get this right. Pricing a behavior agent is different from pricing a task manager — the value is in consistency over time, not features you use once.
Before we set a price, we want to know: what are people actually hitting? What would make the upgrade obvious? What would make it feel like a bad deal?
Waitlist members will get to answer those questions before the public launch. You'll also get early access at a founder rate before we open it up.
How to join
Head to /pricing and enter your email. That's it. We'll reach out before we launch — no marketing cadence, just a direct message when it's ready.
What this means for the project
Buffy is an early-stage behavior agent. Keeping the core free lowers the barrier for people to try a genuinely different approach to habit tracking. Pro is how we sustain the work — so the free tier can stay generous and the product can keep improving.
If you've gotten value from Buffy and want to support it today, you can also buy us a coffee on Ko-fi. No subscription, no obligation — just a direct way to say the product is worth something to you.
